  • Bans gifts by lobbyists to legislators
  • Bans legislators and candidates from using campaign money for personal expenditures
  • Bans a candidate from giving his own campaign money to other candidates
  • Bans corporations from giving directly to candidates
  • Bans legislators from being paid lobbyists while serving in the Legislature and for 2 years thereafter
  • Places caps on personal and PAC donations to candidates
  • Applies a strict ethical code to legislators
  • Creates ethics training for legislators & their staff
  • Hears complaints of ethical violations by legislators and, where merited, recommends sanctions to the Legislature for action

Our efforts are now focused primarily on gathering signatures on our paper petitions. If you find no way to sign a paper petition (see the locations specified on the website under Sign the Petition), you can still sign online. Although the Attorney General has stated that online signatures will not be accepted, our attorneys believe that the courts will rule in favor of electronic signatures if we need to use them. So we will submit electronic signatures, if necessary, but only as a fall-back position

Our lawyers believe that, under Utah law, electronic signatures will be proved legal, but we are planning to submit e-signatures only if we need them.
